First-party measurement
Pageviews, sessions, referrers, campaigns, device class, engagement, shares, internal clicks, performance metrics and selected monetisation interactions may be recorded in our own database.
Trending uses first-party analytics to understand what pages work, where visitors came from and how the site performs. It is designed to avoid storing raw IP addresses.
Pageviews, sessions, referrers, campaigns, device class, engagement, shares, internal clicks, performance metrics and selected monetisation interactions may be recorded in our own database.
The analytics system salts and hashes the visitor IP for abuse prevention and coarse session diagnostics. Raw IP addresses are not deliberately written to the analytics table.
Saved trends and followed topics currently use local browser storage. No Trending account is required.
